What brackt is

brackt is a website with free financial calculators and articles about Indian salary, tax, and personal finance. You use it to compute things — your take-home pay, your income tax, your HRA exemption. The site is free. There are no signups, subscriptions, or paywalls.

What brackt isn't

brackt is not financial advice. brackt is not tax advice. brackt is not legal advice.

The calculators compute what the law says, applied to the inputs you provide. They don't know your specific situation. They don't account for edge cases that don't apply to most readers. They don't replace a chartered accountant or a tax professional for your actual filing.

If you make a financial decision because of something on brackt, you're making that decision yourself. We're showing you the math; we're not telling you what to do with it.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep the math correct. The salary calculator is verified to the rupee against the Income Tax Department's official calculator. The articles cite the IT Act when claims need backing. The engine runs over two hundred test cases including every slab boundary and every surcharge band.

But regulations change. Edge cases exist. We may have missed something. If you spot an error, email [email protected] and we'll investigate and fix it.

We provide no warranty of accuracy or fitness for any specific purpose. You are responsible for verifying any number that affects a real decision.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Your own decisions about salary, tax, investments, and filings
  • Verifying numbers before relying on them for ITR submission or major financial moves
  • Consulting a chartered accountant or tax professional when your situation needs one

brackt is responsible for:

  • The math being mathematically correct given the inputs and the applicable regulation as we understand it
  • The articles being honest about what they know and what they don't

Intellectual property

The brackt name, the calculator engines, the article text, the visual design — all of it belongs to brackt.

You may:

  • Read everything for free, without signing up
  • Share specific URLs from brackt (calculator result URLs, article links) freely
  • Quote a short passage from an article with attribution and a link back

You may not:

  • Republish full articles
  • Use the brackt engines or any substantial part of them in your own product
  • Rebrand brackt's design system as your own

Limitation of liability

brackt is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any specific purpose.

Our maximum liability to you under any theory of recovery (contract, tort, statutory, or otherwise) is zero rupees. brackt does not charge you anything; you cannot claim more than what you paid.

This limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by law. In jurisdictions where law requires a minimum liability cap, that minimum applies but no more.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with brackt or these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Delhi, India.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, the "Last updated" date above will change. Your continued use of brackt after changes means you accept the updated terms.
