Privacy Policy

What this page is

brackt is a website with free financial calculators. To keep the site running, we collect a small amount of information about how it gets used. This page tells you what we collect, what we don't, and what your rights are.

What we collect

• Aggregate page views — which pages get visited, in what order, roughly how often
• Anonymized IP address — the last segment is removed; we can tell roughly which country you're in, not who you are
• Browser type, OS, device class — for compatibility checks
• Referring URL — where you arrived from, if known

That's the full list. We collect this through Google Analytics 4 configured with IP anonymization, no advertising signals, no cross-device tracking.

What we don't collect

• Anything you type into a calculator. Your salary, your rent, your deductions, your tax-saving investments — none of it leaves your browser. The math runs locally on your device
• Your name, email, phone number, postal address. We don't ask for any of it
• Payment information. We don't take payments
• Behavioural analytics on specific actions inside the calculator. We don't track which fields you change, which regime you compare, or what your specific numbers are

Cookies

Three categories of cookies are relevant to brackt:

Essential cookies. None. brackt does not require any cookie to function.

Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) to count repeat visitors and measure session length. These cookies use anonymized IP addresses and do not share data with Google's advertising systems.

Advertising cookies. When AdSense is enabled on the site, Google may set cookies (such as IDE, __gads) for ad personalisation and frequency capping. You can opt out of personalised ads at https://adssettings.google.com.

Third-party services

brackt uses the following third-party services:

• Google Analytics 4 — aggregate page-view analytics with anonymized IP. Configured with allow_google_signals: false and allow_ad_personalization_signals: false
• Google AdSense (when enabled) — advertising on articles, city pages, /learn, and below calculator results. Ads do not appear inside the calculator's result block, breakdown sections, or on the About, Privacy, or Terms pages

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the European GDPR, the California CCPA, and similar frameworks, you have the right to:

• Know what data we collect — this page is that disclosure
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you — for brackt, this is essentially nothing personally identifiable beyond what Google Analytics aggregates
• Request deletion of your data — email [email protected]; we'll request deletion from Google Analytics within 30 days
• Opt out of advertising personalisation via Google's settings at https://adssettings.google.com

Data retention

Google Analytics retains aggregate event data for 14 months by default. brackt does not store any user data separately. There is no brackt database of users, sessions, or inputs.

Children's privacy

brackt is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has interacted with the site, email [email protected] and we'll act accordingly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, the "Last updated" date above will change. Significant changes will also be noted in /learn.
